List Xero accounts

GET
/api/v1/organizations/{organization_id}/integrations/xero/accounts
curl --request GET \
--url https://api.elephants.inc/api/v1/organizations/2489E9AD-2EE2-8E00-8EC9-32D5F69181C0/integrations/xero/accounts \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <token>'

The connected tenant’s chart of accounts, split into the categories a mapping can target.

Live: this calls Xero on each request rather than reading anything stored, so it is slower than the rest of this surface and fails when the connection does. An organization with no active Xero connection is a 422.

asset is only current assets — the ones a transfer can sensibly land in — not everything Xero classes as an asset. The expense/revenue/asset lists omit accounts without a code, which cannot be mapped; bank keeps them, since the bank setting stores the account id.

Error response. error.type is the machine-readable code — branch on it, never on error.message or the HTTP status. error.message is display-grade prose safe to render to a user; when a failure has no specific copy it falls back to a generic sentence, so it never carries a machine code.
